About Quality Silver Bullion
Quality Silver Bullion was a private minting company with over a decade of experience in the precious metals industry. They were acquired by Regency Mint in 2020. Regency Mint has been in the precious metals industry since 1999, though it's hard to find consumer feedback about the company online.
Reviews of Quality Silver Bullion indicated that the company was good to work with. Investors were happy with the quality of their products, and they mentioned that they would sometimes have the opportunity to talk directly to the owner.
Regency Mint now owns the Quality Silver Bullion mint, and the company's employees were absorbed during the merger. This company is family-owned and has strong policies regarding its manufacturing. They say that they have some of the best customer service and highest mint quality in the country.
Since acquiring Quality Silver Bullion, Regency has expanded until they can create over 160,000 new silver medallions every month. They have received an ISO certification, which indicates that they work hard to ensure customer satisfaction.
The company has a policy regarding the quality of their items. They say that they want to help families, communities, and individuals become financially self reliant. The items minted by their company are meant to meet strict guarantees in terms of item purity and weight.
Every employee of the company focuses on a different area of the business. They are all held to high standards of accountability. Regency says that it works to keep improving its products and its refinement process.
Regency is part of the American Numismatic Association, meaning that they have a high level of expertise when it comes to numismatic rarities. They also claim to have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, but their page actually shows that they have not been rated or accredited with the organization.
There's no solid information regarding why Regency isn't BBB accredited or rated. It's possible that they were at the time of putting that information on the website, and they simply haven't updated it yet.
Gold Bullion Options
The mint is geared toward creating custom silver pieces and original silver items. However, there are some types of gold and silver bullion that you can purchase. These vary depending on the company's inventory, so they might not always be in stock.
If you do want to purchase gold from the company, you must meet a minimum purchase requirement of at least ten ounces. That means that this probably isn't the best place to go if you only want to get small amounts of gold.
You can purchase gold coins in 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce, and 1/10th ounce weights. Keep in mind that if you get the lower weights, you'll need to buy many of the coins to meet the minimum purchase requirements. You can also purchase 1 ounce bars with a random design or a 20 peso gold coin from Mexico.
Silver Bullion Options
Silver bullion options are available from the company without needing to meet a minimum purchase requirement. That's because silver is what they specialize in. At the same time, you might not always be able to access everything on their inventory list.
There are several 1 ounce silver coins available. In addition, you can buy silver bars with a variety of designs in weights including 1 ounce, 10 ounces, 100 ounces, and even 1,000 ounces. Several silver rounds are available in weights of 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, and 1/10 ounce.
You can purchase a Pillar Dollar round with .999 purity silver. Another option is to get a personalized silver heart coin, which is ideal for those who are looking for a special gift for someone in their lives.
Copper Bullion Options
The company does also offer some copper bullion options. Copper is a popular investment choice because it is much more inexpensive than gold and silver, which means there's a lower threshold for investment. However, it isn't considered one of the best precious metals for investors. It also isn't eligible to be held in retirement accounts like a precious metals IRA.
Regency Mint has several 1 ounce copper rounds available, many of which are printed with the company's original designs:
In addition, you have the option to purchase a personalized heart coin made out of .999 purity copper. That might be favored by people who want to get a special customized item for their loved one, but who also don't have enough money to invest in the silver coin.
Custom Minting Services
Quality Silver Bullion provided custom minted products to people, and now Regency Mint offers the same. If you want to get a silver or copper item that's engraved with things like a person's name, a phrase, or an anniversary date, you have the opportunity to do so.
These services are what most set the company apart from the competition. Custom printing isn't a big draw for hardcore precious metals investors, but it is a perfect option for those who really like sentimental keepsakes. You can use the company's services to create one of a kind memories for your loved ones or yourself.
You can even get more than the letters customized. Maybe you have a specific design that you want to see printed on a coin. You can work directly with the experts at the company to have a sketch drawn up. Once you've finalized the image, the company will mint one or more customized coins for you.
You will be able to take your pick of different coin dies, packaging choices, and finishes.
One option is a frosted finish, which is bullion grade. The mirror finish looks similar to a proof coin, so it's great if you like shiny and high-quality metals. You also have the option for a dull mint luster, which is more inexpensive and easier to handle.
As for the coin dies, the simplest one to get is the 2D option. But you can also have your coins crafted with 3D sculpture and engraving. The cost of these options may vary depending on how complicated and three-dimensional your design is.
Some of the packaging options include capsule holders, display bags, and display boxes. You can choose the one that suits you best depending on how you want to show off the coins in your home.
There is also the option to purchase blanks made of brass, copper, silver, or gold. These weighted discs are the unmarked pieces that are later turned into coins. You can purchase these in bags, and there are several options available.
You can get tumbled or burnished gold, tumbled or burnished silver, tumbled or burnished copper, and tumbled or burnished brass. Each of the purchases is made by the roll. Depending on the type of metal, you might be able to get rolls in anything ranging from 18 millimeters to 47 millimeters.
Many precious metals dealers don't have blanks available, so this is a solid choice if that's what you specifically want to invest in.
Is Quality Silver Bullion a Scam?
Neither Quality Silver Bullion nor Regency Mint appear to be scams. Both companies have been operated for long periods of time, and there seem to be reliable consumer reviews. However, there isn't a lot of online feedback available, especially considering how long the companies have been in business.
Another potential red flag is the Better Business Bureau presence. Regency Mint's BBB page is unavailable, and they do not seem to be accredited with the agency. Without a BBB page, it's hard to see whether there have been past customer complaints or other issues.
In addition, the company's product selection is fairly limited. They do have quite a few original products that you can only purchase from their mint. But if you want to buy the most popular gold and silver bars or coins, you'll find that there are not many options available. And many of those options might be out of stock.
For these reasons, it's a better idea to invest with another precious metals company, especially if you want to purchase products for a precious metals IRA. But if you're really interested in the company's original silver products, they do appear to be a legitimate business.
Pros & Cons of Quality Silver Bullion
Quality Silver Bullion is now doing business as Regency Mint. They are a minting company that sells custom coins, original products, and some silver products. But they don't tend to have much in terms of the most popular silver products. There are also some potential red flags, like a lack of BBB accreditation and a missing BBB page.
All in all, this does seem to be a legitimate company. Despite the lack of online customer feedback, they appear to make high quality custom coins. If you're interested in investing in these as a gift to someone, you've come to the right place. But if you want to purchase silver items for long-term growth in an investment portfolio or IRA, you're better off working with another dealership.
Overall, we believe that there is a better option when it comes to your investment.
